"The DRC must urgently regain its mining sovereignty. The figures exposed reveal a critical dependence – foreign giants CMOC (China) and Glencore (Switzerland) monopolize more than 60% of the national copper production, while Ivanhoe Mines (Canada) and Zijin (China) control more than 80% of cobalt. This foreign control over strategic minerals deprives the Congolese state of colossal revenues, siphoned off abroad to the detriment of local development."
